Lichfield auctioneer Richard Winterton's London Marathon run realises £12,000 for charities

IT'S four weeks since Richard Winterton completed the 2026 London Marathon, realising £12,000 for charity.

The 60-year-old was among almost 60,000 people braving escalating temperatures to take on the iconic 26.2-mile course on Sunday, April 26.

Starting just after 11.20am, the dad-of-four clocked up a time of 6:03:59 to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK and We Love Lichfield.

"I'm still not sure if my legs and toes have forgiven me but I managed a six-mile run on Sunday," he said.

"There are so many individuals to thank but to name a few I'm grateful to Lichfield Radio and the Lichfield Echo, Citylife in Lichfield, Anne Edward and the Bargain Hunt community, IJS Electrical, Bidpath, fellow auctioneers, local businesses, staff, family and friends.

"Together we have raised a wonderful £12,000 for charity, which I am hugely proud of.

"Thank you all so much."
