AN impressive collection of classic woodworking tools is set to go under the hammer with Richard Winterton Auctioneers.

The single-owner collection of more than 70 woodworking planes recovered from a recent house clearance features in the Antique & Home Sale on Tuesday, May 26, and the catalogue is live online now.

In excellent used condition throughout and with some boxed, the collection has been catalogued across 15 lots from Lot 885 to 899.

Highlights include collectable Stanley woodworking planes, with USA-made examples and others made in England.

There are also numerous genuine Record planes with original decals.

Other makers include Whitmore, Rapier, Acorn, Millers Falls, Union, WS – made in Birmingham – and CTL.

There are also numerous planes of unknown manufacture.

Lot 896 includes some disassembled Stanley planes along with a box of spare handles, other spare parts and several books about Stanley Tools.
