November 18th, 2025
New partnership 'a perfect fit'
LICHFIELD Camera Club and Richard Winterton Auctioneers have developed a new partnership which sees some of the group’s photography displayed in The Auction Café.
Eight striking images of Lichfield and its surrounding area taken by club members have been installed at the popular Market Street coffee shop and valuation hub.
Anyone wishing to purchase a copy of the photographs can find details in the café.
Auctioneer Richard Winterton said: “Lichfield Camera Club has been delighting photography fans for years with striking pictures ranging from landscapes and architecture to wildlife and portraits.
“As auctioneers of Lichfield for more than 160 years, it’s a perfect fit for us to showcase some of the club’s photographs of local scenes in The Auction Café, where we feel they will be much admired by our customers.”
Affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Midland Counties Photographic Federation, Lichfield Camera Club meets every Wednesday at Lichfield Methodist Centre, Backcester Lane.
Lichfield Camera Club chair Joe Anderson CPAGB said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Richard Winterton Auctioneers.
“Having a selection of our members’ images on display in The Auction Café is a fantastic opportunity to showcase local photography and raise awareness of the club.
“We really appreciate their support and look forward to building on this partnership.”
Free valuations of jewellery, watches, gold and silver with Midlands gemmologist Georgina Southam FIRV FGA DGA BA (Hons) take place at the café between 9.30am and 3pm on Tuesdays, up to and including December 23.
Different specialists offer valuations most Wednesdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Richard Winterton will be offering valuations of general antiques and collectables plus advice on house clearances and the auction process on November 26 and December 17.
On Wednesday, November 19, Robert French will be assessing autographs, postcards, whisky and wine.
December 3 will see numismatics expert Phil Bridge offering valuations of coins and banknotes and on December 10 Jon Price will be assessing all types of toys, trains, railwayana, die-cast models, Action Man, Sindy and Barbie.
Plans are also in place to celebrate the café’s first birthday on Thursday, December 11, when customers will be offered a free piece of birthday cake with any hot drink, while stocks last.
