Bidding battle for PlayStation classics
IT was game on for an impressive collection of classic Japanese Role-Playing Games going under the hammer in Lichfield today (Monday, July 21).
The haul of 29 JRPG games, mainly PlayStation with some Nintendo, totalled £1,980 at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park.
Highlights included Castlevania Symphony Of The Night from 1997, with the European PAL version including audio CD and art book selling at £340.
The North American NTSC format version made £70 in the sale.
Also up for grabs were Persona 1 from 1996 and Persona 2 from 2000, each fetching £260, and another lot featuring a collection of NTSC PlayStation games selling at £340.

The whole collection was consigned to auction by a client from Somerset following a valuation via email.
"These JRPG classics included prequels to some of the most loved games of all time and Suikoden II which is one of the best games ever," said a spokesperson for Richard Winterton Auctioneers.
"It’s a very impressive collection from someone who had very good taste in games."
