LICHFIELD auctioneer Richard Winterton takes on the 2026 London Marathon this Sunday – and here's how to follow his progress live.

Richard braves the 26.2-mile course on April 26 for Parkinson’s UK and We Love Lichfield.

Search for '2026 TCS London Marathon' in the App Store or Google Play Store and install it.

Step 2: Find Richard

Open the app and use the tracking/search feature to enter Richard's details – bib number 79778.

Step 3: Follow his journey

You’ll be able to:

• See timing updates at key points

Each year the TCS London Marathon attracts more than 50,000 participants ranging from the world’s most decorated elite athletes to thousands of amateur runners, creating a unique global spectacle where ‘weekend warriors’ share the start line with Olympic legends.

Richard has been training hard to take on the legendary course on Sunday, April 26, in aid of two organisations especially close to his heart – Parkinson’s UK and We Love Lichfield.

“After turning 60, I wanted to do something special,” said the intrepid father-of-four.

“People’s generosity has been amazing and the tallies for both charities have grown and grown.

"Every single donation will make a real difference so thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

“I am also so grateful for everyone's support and encouragement which has given me a gigantic boost during training for the big day."
