Window to a week with the wow factor
THINGS never stand still in the auction world. And if there’s another characteristic that’s as prevalent as this perpetual motion it’s variety!
Right now, we’re geared up for a very special auction of hundreds of high-end windows and doors at a Burton factory on Saturday, July 6.
Viewing takes place on Friday, July 5, between 9am-5pm onsite at the former Black Millwork UK Ltd at Units 1&2 in Dallow Street.
The auction there the following day starts at 10am.
The premises had served as a windows agent and fitter for 33 years. Black Millwork UK closed earlier this year; the firm was a UK agent for major supplier Andersen Windows.
As well as a huge range of superior spec windows, the auction will include bi-fold doors, patio doors, double-glazed front doors and window units.
The sale will also feature factory racking, machinery and a range of office furniture and computer equipment.
Following Saturday’s auction, stay tuned for a BIG week the week after… Monday, July 15 sees our inaugural Watch & Designer Sale at 6pm in St Mary’s in the Market Square in the heart of Lichfield city centre.
As well as a splendid selection including Chanel handbags and Rolex watches, the auction will include a number of charity lots in aid of We Love Lichfield.
Viewing will be at The Lichfield Auction Centre on Saturday, July 13, from 9.30am until noon and then at St Mary’s on the Monday from midday.
The Watch & Designer Sale will be followed on Tuesday (July 16) by one of our regular jewellery auctions at 9.30am and then a specialist Coins, Medals & Militaria Sale at 12 noon.
The next day’s auction kicks off from 9.30am with our popular ‘Wednesday Pictures’ section and later on we will be auctioning Laura Bowcut’s superb archive of the pubs of Lichfield and her collection of Lichfield postcards.
And on the Thursday, July 18, is a specialist railwayana sale covering a wide range of items large and small.
Highlights include a platform bench slat marked Lichfield Trent Valley, a quantity of Signal Box lever plates from Lichfield City, a large GWR Platform One sign, a L.N.W.R. brass bell, station name boards, a number of cast iron gradient and boundary markers, a collection of cast iron wagon and bridge plates, signal arms, assorted railway notices, locomotive whistles, signal box diagrams, maps and plans, prints, a large selection of books, photographs and tickets.
The jewellery, coins and militaria, pubs archive, postcards collection and railwayana can be viewed at The Lichfield Auction Centre on Saturday, July 13, between 9.30am and noon; Monday and Tuesday July 15-16 between 9am-4pm and on the morning of the sale from 8.30am.
