'Volatile' market is 'very exciting'
A WHITEFRIARS vase shouldered other offerings aside to become one of the star lots at auction in Lichfield today, Monday, March 23.
The 24cm tall Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars shouldered vase from the Textured range, pattern number 9678, in striking tangerine, flew way above estimate and reached a hammer price of £2,100.

Auctioneer and decorative glass valuer David Fergus, pictured above with the vase, said: "The Whitefriars market is volatile; it's unpredictable, it's very exciting at the moment.
"If you have some Whitefriars in your house, now's the time to sell.
"Give us a call at Richard Winterton Auctioneers and see what we can do for you."

Weekly sales at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, frequently feature decorative glass and ceramics.
Pictured below is a Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars large Drunken Bricklayer vase in sought-after kingfisher blue, pattern number 9672, which sold at auction recently for £800.
