Two Day Home & Interior Sale Report
Richard Winterton Auctioneers are pleased to announce a hugely successful sale with a 95.8% selling rate of some 1100 lots. First to be offered and set the tone with a small album of letters from Agatha Christie which sold £550, this lot was an ITV Dickinson Real Deal T.V lot which made over the dealers day offer.
A gold proof £2, the 4th Olymiad, London 1902 WT number 1445 sold £440.
We also had a private collection of books with two lots which particularly went flying out the door – a box of book concerning West Midlands, Birmingham and other Regions sold £360, a box of books concerning East Midlands, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire sold £380.
Furniture section went well with good prices achieved through-out.
Pictures sold well with a J Thor or similar landscapes, oils on canvas, Figures in Woodland, Country Church and Thatched cottage scenes (4) sold £1,300.
A circular cast iron clock marked ‘Gents Leicester’ sold £300 and an oak refectory dining room table with eight oak framed chairs in red leather upholstered studded seats sold £460.
