The last Antiques & Home Sale of 2020 included an outstanding WW1 family medals grouping with an incredibly poignant letter and map, which sold above estimate for £850.
The sale also included the brass bell from WW2 submarine HMS Tradewind 1943, pictured above, which attracted a huge amount of interest and reached a final hammer price of £2,100.
Coincidentally, the submarine was scrapped 65 years ago to the day of the auction, on December 14 1955.
Other militaria results included two WW2-era Japanese swords, pictured below, which sold for a combined £1,160.
Sales of stamps totalled £4,675 and wines and whisky totted up to £10,000, with just one unsold across the entire section.
Lichfield has also become the go-to place for Pokemon, with recent collections of cards fetching thousands at auction.
In July 2020, a rare complete 1st edition Pokemon base set sold online with Richard Winterton Auctioneers for £25,000.
We are now consigning for the specialist sales in March. To book an appointment for drop-offs or to enquire about Virtual Valuations, call 01543 251081 or email office@richardwinterton.co.uk.
