Preview: Three signed limited edition LS Lowry prints in Lichfield auction

THREE signed limited-edition prints by celebrated artist LS Lowry feature in Richard Winterton Auctioneers' Antiques & Home Sale on Monday, January 19.

Consigned from a client’s private collection, these are exceptional pieces for any collector.

Laurence Stephen Lowry (1887-1976) is celebrated for his evocative depictions of industrial scenes, urban landscapes and working class life in the mid-20th century, populated by iconic 'matchstick' figures.

The pieces in Monday's sale at The Lichfield Auction Centre include three limited edition prints, all signed in pencil by Lowry.

Lot 748: 'Ferry Boats'

A signed limited edition print depicting figures waiting to board ferries. Signed with a blind stamp to lower margin, published 1972 by Venture prints from an edition of 500, approximate size 34cm x 42cm including visible margins.

Lot 749: 'On The Sands'

A signed limited edition print depicting figures on a beach at low tide. Signed and numbered 181/500 to lower margin, approximate size 40.5cm x 58cm including visible margins.

A signed limited edition print depicting figures in a landscape setting. Signed with blind stamp to lower margin, published 1974 by Venture prints from an edition of 850, approximate size 34.5cm x 52cm including visible margins.
