Special lots will 'delight and inspire'

TICKETS for St Giles Hospice Winter Gala have sold out but you can still support the glittering event through the power of auction.

The hospice’s first-ever Winter Gala takes place on Friday, November 14, at beautiful Moxhull Hall in Sutton Coldfield.

Auctioneer Richard Winterton will be hosting – and conducting a live auction of carefully curated prizes selected to delight and inspire.

A further selection of superb items and experiences are also lined up for a silent auction to be run on the night.

Even if you aren’t able to attend the evening, you can still place your bids for any of the items by contacting Richard directly at richardwinterton@richardwinterton.co.uk – please put ‘St Giles Winter Gala’ as the subject of your email and specify which auction  features the item(s) on which you are bidding.

“I am so excited to be part of St Giles’ first-ever Winter Gala, which is set to be a glittering evening of entertainment,” said Richard.

“The live and silent auctions are the perfect opportunity to treat yourself or a loved one to something extraordinary whilst supporting your local hospice.

“Even if you can’t attend on the night, you can leave commission bids for the live auction or pledges for the silent auction by contacting me directly on email.”

The Live Auction

Lot 1: A meal for two at The School House Restaurant at Weeford

Enjoy a delicious set meal for two, complete with a bottle of house wine. Every meal at The School House is a special experience – using locally sourced ingredients, their chefs craft mouth-watering menus that blend classic recipes with innovative flavours. Prepare for a truly unforgettable culinary treat.

Lot 2: Lewis Hamilton’s cap

A rare opportunity to own Lewis Hamilton’s cap – a genuine item from the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. A must have for any racing enthusiast and an unforgettable addition to any collection!

Lot 3: A villa in Cyprus for one week

Lot 8: A one-week stay in a four-bed house in Devon

Spend a week in a delightful four-bedroom house in Hatherleigh, Devon. Accommodating up to eight guests, with a dog-friendly garden - perfect for a family getaway or rural retreat. To be taken between February 1 and  July 31 2026 by prior arrangement with the owners.

The Silent Auction

The evening will also feature a silent auction, with sealed bids to be placed on the night or with Richard in advance as per above.

• Four-ball at Beau Desert Golf Club (to be played between Monday and Friday, valid until September 30 2026)
• Seven-night stay in an ABI Beaumont caravan on Greenacres Caravan Park near to Porthmadog in Wales, close to Black Rock Sands (stay for up to six people with a maximum of two well-behaved dogs, available dates from the end of March to November 2026)
• Four-ball at Whittington Heath Golf Club
• Two-hour tractor driving experience
• Eight VIP New Vision festival tickets
• Voucher for six-course tasting menu for two at Cheal’s restaurant in Knowle
• One-night midweek stay at Model Farm Luxury Lodges

The following three lots have been donated by local golfer Richard Mansell, who plays on the PGA tour and is currently number 28 in the 'Race to Dubai' for the top 50 golfers in Europe:

• A FootJoy golf glove signed by Richard Mensell
• A pair of size 10 Adidas Boost golf shoes
• A signed Porsche Singapore Classic golf flag from when Richard won that competition
