HS2 11-day A38 closure and The Lichfield Auction Centre

27th March to 8th April

PEOPLE visiting The Lichfield Auction Centre are reminded that the A38 will shortly be closed in both directions for 11 days.

The closure, due to HS2 works, will see both the northbound and southbound carriageways shut between Hilliards Cross and Swinfen Island from 9pm tonight, Friday, March 27, until 5am on Wednesday, April 8.

The northbound slip road at Streethay will also be closed and will not re-open until October 2026.

Road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, using the signed diversion routes published on the HS2 website instead of following Sat Navs.

Richard Winterton Auctioneers' Antique & Home Sale on Monday, March 30, at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, starts at 9am as scheduled.

As well as bidding live in the room, people can bid online or on the telephone by prior arrangement.

The next auction after March 30 is on Monday, April 13, with viewing on Friday, April 10, from 10am-4pm – after the A38 has re-opened.

Richard Winterton Auctioneers closes for Easter at 5pm on Thursday, April 2, returning at 9am on Tuesday, April 7.

The Auction Café in Lichfield is open from 9am-4pm as usual on Good Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, closed on Easter Sunday,  and open on Easter Monday, April 6, from 10am-3pm.
