Goal! £1,860 for Spurs football programmes
FOOTBALL programmes meticulously collected over six decades have sold for £1,860 at auction.
The Tottenham Hotspur programmes dating from the 1940s to the early 21st century featured in Richard Winterton Auctioneers’ Library Sale at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, on March 26.
They were discovered in a property in Stonnall.
“The programmes cover wartime matches through the double winning season of 1960-1961 and beyond including 1st team, reserve, domestic and European cups and friendly home matches,” said valuer Jon Price.
“The away programmes include FA Cup finals and league and cup games, including a large number of London derbies.
“Also on offer are a large quantity of Totteham Hotspur Official Handbooks from the 1940s onwards, including a complete set from 1953-1954 until 1992-1993.”
