Giant Dalek looks to exterminate estimate at Lichfield auction

A FULL-SIZE Dalek and a rare retro Dalk playsuit from the 1960s are coming up for auction in Lichfield.

Doctor Who fans will doubtless be tempted by our 160cm tall, 100cm long and 60cm wide fibreglass and plastic Dalek, which sits on a wheeled metal frame, with lights and moveable weapons.

The keen Whovian should be able to sit snugly inside and whizz around terrifying their neighbours!

Its guide price is around £250 due to some minor damage and wear and tear.

Another rarity is a boxed Berwick Toys Dalek Playsuit, pictured above, dating from around 1965.

Comprising of a vinyl suit with shoulder straps for the body and a plastic dome to wear on your head and weapons to hold through holes in the body, this example is complete and in very good condition.

It also comes with its original box with instructions printed on the leaves and packing pieces from inside, and has a guide price of £150 to £250.

The playsuit is a piece of spinoff merchandise from the cult television show during the tenure of the First Doctor William Hartnell, who played the role from 1963 to 1966.

The year 1965 also saw the release of the Peter Cushing film Dr Who and the Daleks, which was not intended to be part of the TV series although it was the first Doctor Who story to be made in colour.
