Gaming: Exclusive Blizzard Entertainment employee gifts for World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, StarCraft in Lichfield auction
A HUGE collection of exclusive Blizzard Entertainment gaming merchandise is coming up for auction at Lichfield.
Catalogued across more than 60 lots, the collection includes sought-after staff-only and employee service and holiday gifts including sculptures, statues, replica weapons, games and badges from epic adventure fantasy franchises World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch and StarCraft.
Many of the rare, limited edition items are unopened.
They include a Blizzard Entertainment sword presented in 2010 for five years of meritorious service and a shield given out to Blizzard Entertainment employees who served at least 10 years at the company.
There is a sealed box containing a hearthstone sculpture made exclusively for Blizzard employees during the year 2013 and given as a holiday gift.
Sealed collector’s editions of games include World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King, Diablo III Reaper of Souls and World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaraia, all in their original packaging.
They all go under the hammer with Richard Winterton Auctioneers on Tuesday, February 28 – Day Two of that week’s Antiques & Home Sale – starting at 9.30am with Lot 688.

“This is a huge collection of exclusive merchandise from some of the world’s most epic gaming created by Blizzard Entertainment,” said auctioneer Richard Winterton.
The auction also features vintage and modern video games and consoles including PlayStation and PSP, Nintendo and SNES, Xbox and Game Boy alongside anime DVDs, collections of manga, and Pokémon cards including near complete sets of Team Rocket, Fossil and Jungle, plus various promo cards.
People are welcome to bid live in the room at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, or can join the auction online.
Viewing in person is on Friday, February 24, 10am-4pm by appointment.
