"To Jonathan All the best - Frank Sinatra '94"

Huge collection of celebrity signed photographs in Lichfield auction

A COLLECTION of hundreds of signed photographs and autographs by some of the world’s biggest names in film, TV and music goes to auction in Lichfield next week.

Acquired over the course of 30 years, the archive of six albums goes under the hammer with Richard Winterton Auctioneers at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, as Lots 483 to 488 in the Antiques & Home Sale on Monday, March 4, starting at 9.30am.

Global stars in the collection include Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand and Sean Connery.

The autographs were dedicatedly compiled during three decades by a man now retired and living in Lowestoft, who asks to be identified by just his first name, Jonathan, which features in personalised inscriptions adorning many of the photographs.

More than 740 signatures, most on photographs but also on individual letters, notes and theatre programmes, feature in the six albums, which each contain between 85 and 155 signatures and could exceed £1,000 at auction.
