Library Sale is a real page-turner!

RICHARD Winterton’s grand Library Sale at The Lichfield Auction Centre has seen successful bids on rare books, maps, autographs and stamps signed, sealed and delivered.
The sale on Monday, December 3, also featured postcards, cigarette cards and collectables.
A large collection of Great Britain stamps (pictured) sold for £780, double the estimate.
And a mostly mint collection of German stamps (pictured) made £800 to a buyer in the room.
Another lot comprising seven albums made £1,200. In fact, the stamp section enjoyed a 100 per cent selling rate.
An autograph book bearing the signature of three Beatles – Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star – made £800 and a framed Buddy Holly autograph made £260.
A collection of material relating to Admiral Lord Nelson (pictured below) sold for £380, seven times the estimate, with a collection of pop and Hollywood memorabilia, including names such as Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Clint Eastwood and James Stewart, selling for £440.
A collection of Victorian scrapbooks made £340 and a group of 450 Edwardian to mid-20th century postcards – many featuring Lichfield and other Midlands locations – sold for £380.
Maps, many from a large single-owner collection in Lichfield, also sold well – a hand-coloured, engraved British Isles map ([pictured below) made £750.
The mid-17th century map of Europe pictured below fetched £600.
Two boxes of TA Poyser ornithology books sold for £340 and six boxes of military books (pictured below) made an incredible £950 – more than eight times the estimate.
