Auction Report: Collector's sale

Prized Dinky toys deliver excellent prices

An unusual round Bakelite Ekco radio receiver, in excellent condition for its age, was a highlight of the collectables section and after a bidding battle the hammer fell at £300.

Our cigarette card enthusiasts were back in the saleroom again, for the second half of a large private collection. A Wills cigarette card album (Australian issue) containing 270 cards from various cricket series dating from 1902-1929, fetched an impressive £900 from an internet buyer, whilst another Wills album containing over 400 cards of overseas and brand issues and consisting of cards featuring a Military theme, realised a price of £320.

An unusual collection of cigarette cards featuring an eclectic mix of American and Asian manufacturers realised £220 and an ever popular collection of Ogden’s Guinea Gold photographic series reached £240 in the saleroom.

Entries are now invited for our next Collector's sale, to be held on Wednesday 14th September, at the Collector's Salerooms, Cross Keys. Lichfield. WS13 6DN.
