Rare Coin Haul Totals Over £30,000

The 250 Lot coin sale held recently, (28 th June) at Richard Winterton Auctioneers at Burton totalled over £30,000 with every single Lot being sold.

The contents of the sale were sourced from private clients, including the gold coin contents of a Derbyshire bank vault and a local inherited collection.

Interest and bids for the sale and bids came in to the Auctioneers from around the world, reinforcing the current strength of these highly specialised sales.

Highlights in the sale concentrated on rare gold coins from German Sates. A Schwatzburg 10 Mark 1898, San Marino 20 Lire 1925 both sold for £600. A Spain Charles III 8 Escudos 1777 sold at £610, a German States Hannover Krone 1866 at £450 and a rare silver William and Mary Halfcrown 1689 with inverted ‘F’ at £300. Lot 214, a bulk Lot of world coins brought £1,100.
