Richard Winterton Fine Art Auctioneers are delighted to offer an important Art Deco glass figure in their upcoming 15th March Fine Art Sale.

The figure, entitled 'Danseuse' resulted from collaboration between the master glassmaker, Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, and the fashionable sculptor Marcel Bouraine. This is one of a series of figures developed by the pair in the late 1920's, and made using the 'Pate de Cristal' method favoured by Argy-Rousseau for his most exclusive pieces.

This technique mixes powdered glass, metal oxides and other substances within a mould to create a wonderful translucent quality, and each piece has subtle variations which make it unique.

The figure, (discovered in a West Midlands private residence) is to be offered on March 15 th at Burton on Trent, is a pale cinnamon colour and measures 30cm in height. The pre-sale estimate is £15,000 - £20,000.
