MEISSEN NODDING FIGURE SHINES AT REFURBISHED AUCTION ROOM

Phases one of a restoration programme of the Midlands busiest Auction House is now complete. Richard Winterton’s Victorian Auction rooms in Burton On Trent are undergoing a facelift, with the left wing of the building now complete with ongoing work taking place. The initiative has come about to provide state of the art valuation and auctioning facilities to include re-furbished show rooms within the Grade II listed building. New lighting, display cases and flat screen televisions are being installed to show off Lots as they come up for auction which can be seen by buyer and sellers worldwide. An extensive programme of forthcoming Fine Art and Collectors Sales has been put in place for the year ahead.

The Fine, Decorative Arts & Jewels sale held this week was a huge success with 97% of the Lots finding buyers. Highlights included a nineteenth century Meissen nodding pagoda figure at £1,400 and a pair of Japanese signed Meiji bronze vases at £2,500. Both Lots were discovered locally on valuation days.
