ANTIQUE WEAPONS TOTAL OVER £6,000 AT AUCTION

A monthly Antique and Collectors Sale held by Richard Winterton Auctioneers amassed a record turnover for this type of sale to date.
Over 700 hand-picked Lots were on offer and included such a diverse range as gold coinage, ceramics, postcards, militaria, toys and Victorian furniture. An extremely well attended viewing and attendance on the day ensured most of the pre-sale estimates were exceeded.
Consigned by a local client, a collection of over 60 Lots of antique weapons totalled over £6,000. Lot 310, an Italian WW2 dress dagger with tassel went for £340 to a telephone bidder and Lot 327, a 19c Lee Enfield percussion cap rifle sold for £330.
Also included in the sale was a large assortment of mainly boxed Hornby, Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox model vehicles and trains dating from the 1940’s to present. Lot 405, a rare boxed Trix Express Goods Train Set brought £680 and the many bulk Lots of diecasts totalled over £4,000.
In the furniture section, Lot 664, a mid Victorian mahogany tripe fronted wardrobe sold at £600.
