Ouija Board is without doubt one of the most loved horses ever to be trained. Having won the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket, she went to Epsom for the English Oaks, where she defied all critics and romped home by seven lengths, After this she won the Irish Oaks and then ran a fantastic race in the Arc de Triomphe to finish what some might say an unlucky third. She then travelled to America and produced a devastating turn of foot to win the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare.

She then landed the Group 3 Princess Royal Stakes at Newmarket on her reappearance in September 2005. The Cape Cross filly headed to the U.S.A. for her next target the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf. She ran gallantly from a wide draw and was unlucky to find one too good in the form of Intercontinental, who's front running tactics stole the race. After finishing fifth in the Japan Cup, Ouija Board travelled to Hong Kong where she impressively landed the Hong Kong Vase.

Ouija Board confirmed she had once again trained on, when finishing third on her 2006 reappearance at Sha Tin in the QEII Cup. She rallied a fast and late challenge from a slow pace to be beated by less than half a length. Her next start was the prestigious Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and she silenced any doubters with a convincing win, then to the Nassau Stake - her sixth Group 1 victory to date - where she overcame an idling pace to score in brilliant fashion. It was an epic dual between two outstanding mares and in the closing stages both Ouija Board and Alexander Goldrun were neck and neck. It was a victory to be remembered as jockey Frankie Dettori trotted her passed the stands to a rapturous reception. She next ran a fantastic race in defeat in the Irish Champion Stakes when second to Dylan Thomas, having a perfect run into the home straight she took up the lead in the final two furlongs only to be outstayed in the closing stages and beaten by a neck. Ouija Board then headed back to the States in November where she landed her second Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf. The five year old stretched two and a quarter lengths clear of a top class field to land her seventh Group 1 race. In the weeks that followed she collected a further two Cartier awards for her exploits and travelled to Japan where she finished a highly respectable third to Deep Impact in the Japan Cup. She ran pleasingly but the stiff uphill finish at Tokyo racecourse may have stretched her stamina. She then flew to Hong Kong for her final start in the Hong Kong Vase, unfortunately she showed signs of lameness twenty four hours prior to the race and was subsequently withdrawn. She is now at stud. Looking back her career has been remarkable.
She is truly a star!
