What Happens When I Consign Items To Auction?

A receipt is issued for items left for auction. Our full Terms of Business are shown on the reverse. Vendors are issued with a personal account number.

Upon receipt, goods are carefully checked through and directed to the relevant department to be put in the appropriate sale, with an estimate and Lot allocation.

You will receive prior written notification if items have been selected for inclusion in one of our Specialist Sales, (Fine Arts, Collectors and At Home Sales). No notification is issued for our regular Estate Sales. You are invited to phone in regarding your items in these sales.

Payment less charges is by cheque, (normally issued up to four weeks after the sale, although this can vary). Enquires regarding progress of payment can be made directly to our Accounts Departments.

Standard Charges for Selling & Buying

Vendors at the Lichfield Saleroom:
Antique & General sales per lot £3 whether sold/unsold and 15% on the hammer price.
(This includes, unpacking, appraisals, advertising of sales and insurance).
(All charges are subject to VAT).

Vendors at the Burton Saleroom:
Specialist Sales the charge is £7 per lot whether sold/unsold and 15% on the hammer price.
(This includes all insurance , Website illustrations, cataloguing and illustrations, live sales with ATG Media saleroom.com fees, advertising and marketing etc).
(All charges are subject to VAT).

Purchaser:
15% (+VAT)
